Thanksgiving is coming up, and that means we all get to look forward to heaping mounds of delicious foods. As much as I love all the typical staples of Thanksgiving dinner, I look forward to the pies (yes, pies plural) the most.
I love apple pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, and my wife’s favorite is Chef Alina’s Chocolate Cream Pie. I like it too (a lot!). For those of you more adventurous that want to make your own pies, there’s only one rule: make sure you’re starting with an amazing crust!*
Delicious, Flaky Pie Crust
I know that might sound intimidating, but don’t worry; Chef Alina has you covered. Take a look at her “Fool Proof Pie Crust” recipe and you’ll start baking like a pro. Or at least convince your family of that. 😉
What about cake?!
Cake? Did you say cake? Okay, sure. Sometimes 4 pies isn’t enough. I’m a big fan of carrot cake, and I’ve never had one that even compared to Chef Alina’s Carrot Cake. Go check it out, you can thank me later.
If you’re looking for something different to try out, take a look at these Thanksgiving Day Dessert Ideas. *I guess I lied about that rule (crust optional).
