French Door vs. Side-By-Side Refrigerators
French Door vs. Side-By-Side:
Which refrigerator is best for your home and lifestyle?
A new refrigerator is a great opportunity to upgrade the design, technology, and flow of your kitchen. A new fridge also has the ability to match your lifestyle, improve efficiency, and offer better food storage options. Until recently, French Door models have always been considered higher end products. Maybe it’s because the prices could be pretty high, but now there are plenty of comparable models that match the price of a Side-By-Side.
The most important question you can ask yourself here is: what refrigerator best meets your needs?
The answer to this question doesn’t just effect the look of the kitchen. It may enhance the flow and lifestyle that needs to be served in your home. It may make meal prep easier, cooking in bulk easier, as well as making entertaining your guests easier. The flow and look may boost the resale value of your home, too.
French Door Refrigerators
With a clean and elegant design, the French door refrigerator is a great choice. Most fridge items will be easier to reach. It provides a lot of storage and manageability for different lifestyles. As a mother, this is my personal preference as there seems to be far more configurations and organization options in this style. The wider, open-spaced shelving can better serve a larger family like mine.
While amazing for storing fresh foods, the freezer portion can be a little harder to access. All freezer storage is located below. I find a lot of times the freezer doesn’t have as much space in comparison to a side-by side refrigerator/freezer might, and stacking things seems to be a recurring theme. The French door fridge option is organized, elegant, classy, and convenient access to your most utilized items.
Side-by-side refrigerators have a faithful and loyal following for a reason. Their asymmetrical proportions and clean look make any modern home more functional, and sleek looking. The freezer has the capacity to fit more frozen goods compared to the French Door. However, you are giving up some space in the fresh food refrigerated section.
On many side-by-side refrigerators you will find the convenience of an in-the-door water dispenser and ice maker.
If you tend to use a freezer more because of buying in bulk or store leftovers, this is definitely a great refrigerator choice for you.
Whichever you decide is right for you and your family, I am sure you will be satisfied. Both French Door and Side-by-Side refrigerators are eye catching, functional, and convenient to serve your family for years to come.
