You may not be familiar with the name True Manufacturing, but you probably encounter their products on a regular basis.
True is a leading manufacturer of commercial refrigerators. Next time you stop by your favorite cafe or restaurant, peek at their undercounter refrigeration system. More likely than not, it’s made by True. Now head to the supermarket and grab a Coke next to the checkout aisle. See the label on the Coke fridge? Yep, also True.
True is making a huge push into the residential market, producing undercounter refrigerators, wine fridges & beverage centers. They’re a serious contender to other high-end manufacturers like Sub-Zero, Marvel, U-Line and Perlick.
True Manufacturing is based out of O’Fallon, MO and uses 300-series (industry exclusive higher-grade) stainless steel to assemble every refrigeration unit right in their factory.
That’s the first reason we feel good about carrying them: made in America, commercial quality components, and no cheap plastic parts.
These pieces are rock solid, and True stands behind the quality of their construction with a full 3-year warranty and an additional 3 years (6 total) on the internal sealed system. In an industry full of standard 1-year warranties, True puts their money where their mouth is.
Here are a few other features that stand out about True’s undercounter refrigeration line.
Indoor / Outdoor Rated
Along with the solid construction, all of True’s stainless steel refrigerators come equipped out of the box with a heavy-duty lock.
Might not seem like a big deal, but when the True rep delivered our new display, they recounted a homeowner’s story about a group of underaged kids who broke into their backyard and stole alcohol from the beverage center next to the homeowner’s grill. When the kids got caught, the homeowner was held responsible for for providing alcohol to minors, because they didn’t make any effort to restrict access to their outdoor refrigerator.
So if you want to protect your belongings and avoid liability in the process, the lock is a must.
Convertible Dual Zone Wine Fridges / Beverage Centers
Dual zone control on beverage units is fairly common – it provides the option to store red and white wines, as well as other beverages, at separate temperatures in the same unit. Wine refrigerators typically operate between 45° and 65°, but True’s goes down to 40°.
True takes this versatility a step further in their beverage centers, with interchangeable racks and an even wider temperature range: 33° to 65°. This allows you to convert your beverage center at will. Entertaining guests? Rearrange the racks, drop the temperature of one zone to about 33° and you instantly have a frosty beer fridge, living in harmony next to your bottles of wine.
